FIRST STATE SYMPHONIC BAND
First State Symphonic Band is dedicated to the community band concept, providing an opportunity for musicians of all ages and all levels of experience to play music and improve their skills in a supportive environment. We welcome those who can read music, can play a band instrument, and are at least 14 years old. With 12-14 concerts throughout the year, playing with FSSB is a great way to share your talent with family, friends, and the community.
COMPLETE ONLINE FORM
Your first step is to complete the online form, tell us your name, what instrument you prefer to play, and a brief mention of your musical history. Your section leader will then get back to you. There are no auditions.
COME TO REHEARSAL
Rehearsals are held weekly on Thursday evenings, 7:30-9:30 pm, at Ogletown Baptist Church. You must bring your own music stand to each rehearsal. The New Member Form should be completed and given to your section leader at your first rehearsal.

Start your playing journey with fun, talented musicians right here in the First State.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Annual dues are $35 for adults and $18 for students. Dues collection begins in September each year.
Members are required to pay their dues by the first Thursday in November in order to maintain their active membership status. Members who do not pay their dues will not be allowed to attend rehearsals or performances.
An FSSB monogrammed polo is required for summer concerts and can be purchased from the band for $25.
Dues help fund the purchase of new music and the cost of renting rehearsal space. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Dues and donations are tax deductible.
